BH CRAFTS

Charity benefiting Bosnia and Herzegovinian women

BH Crafts is a humanitarian organization which produces handmade clothing and decorative items made exclusively by women from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The non-governmental humanitarian organization Norwegian People's Aid started the project in 1995 through its manager, Ms. Lejla Radončić.  The goal of the organization is to reintegrate many of the women of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose husbands, children, brothers and fathers were killed in the last war by means of creativity and personal engagement through the making of handicrafts.

The organization has proven that it is a very effective way to confront the trauma from the war and to help alleviate their consequences.  Within the program, more than 500 women of different ethnic backgrounds from all over BiH are given a chance to forget their difficult past through a lot of hard work, care and reintegration into the local community.
